It's the End of the World as We Know It

Well, as previously stated I am currently working for 'Best Buy' and have been for half a year. I started as a cashier and have now been moved to customer service rep or REP II. I am enjoying rep II work a lot more then I did rep I or cashier work. It's a bit more to do, but I like it's space. As a cashier you are pretty much stuck in a cubicle 89.9% of the time. No that is not a typo, I meant 89.9% not 99.9% which is what I could see some people might be thinking right now when they read that. I would explain the responsibilities and what specifically you have to do as a customer specialist at 'Best Buy', but I'm off clock and do not wish to go into that much detail into what it is I do. I did get another offer in a different department working or the geek squad, but I can't transfer to that job until after 90 days since I just got moved to customer service. Which works in my favor, because I really want to learn rep II work, before moving on to the other job so that I can learn more about the store. I don't plan to work there my entire life, but I would like to know different parts of the store to become that much better of an employee. When I get my next paycheck I'm going to see how well my credits transfer from to different schools. I just received my unofficial transcript in the email from my previous school. Anyways, this is probably my worst post yet and I'm getting hungry, so...I'm going to go take care of that. G'bye

The Alien Device

So I had my first actual day of work at 'Best Buy' as a rep1 or cashier and I have to say it was not what I thought it was going to be. If you have ever been the banker in monopoly that is what I thought it was going to be like. When I was standing next to the register watching the girl who was teaching me have a wave rush of people I thought I was going to die. I was like how am I going to learn all of the stuff I need to learn to help all these people in the quickest most efficient way possible without knowing anything there is to know about registers. Eventually she had to go on break, and I learned literally zero about being a cashier. They moved me to another cashier to help who just clocked in and after it started slowing down he eventually let me on. From observing I learned a bit, but he had to walk me through my first customer of course. After a couple of the step-by-step coaching I pretty much got the hang of it and the alien device that is the cash register wasn't so alien anymore. It's not the most complicated job in the world, but I had a new found respect for cashiers. I learned that it was much easier for them to take currency in form credit/debit then it was to take cash. As soon as my first customer who wanted to pay in cash came up and I had to open the cash register I was like O' NO! I'm going to mess up for sure. It's nothing like monopoly though, you don't have to figure out numbers in your head sometimes. In fact you just press total and then enter the amount they are paying with and it basically tells you how much change there will be in return. What was really hard for me though was asking them whether or not they wanted a bag. I just kept forgetting that small detail. Also, when I was learning how to use the register in the beginning I sometimes forgot to say hi, but it all worked out for the best and I can honestly say I know how to deal with most problems I will come across at the register. I need to start reading up on 'Geek Squad Black Tie Protection' though, because there seems to be varying types of plans for different devices. There is a meeting early in the morning this Saturday that I hope to learn more from, and hopefully be paid by then, AND get my actual schedule (not just a random day to work here and there). I just really need to learn how to be a cashier perfectly by "Black Friday" or I'm going to be lost.

p.s- the reason there was a "wave rush of people" when I started working with the girl who was trying to teach me is because it was a Tuesday which is apparently "release day" for most places. There are apparently a lot of 'G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra' fans. I didn't want to see that movie and won't, because it looked like a 'Halo' wannabe and nothing like the old show I used to watch as a child.

O' I also got a new license, my Florida license.
I do not look like a drug dealer and/or gang member right? xD
they never turn out good. I should have smiled.
and yes...i'm under 21 ;p

Hired for the Holidays

I got hired at 'Best Buy' for the holidays or as a seasonal employee. I was actually pretty stoked when I got the call to go in for my first interview. The lady on the phone whose name I won't mention was extremely nice. Anyways after my first interview I was immediately set up for the following interview with the store's general manager. I was a little more nervous during that interview, but I got the okay to go to the toxicology lab for my drug screening. After that came back negative and they finished their background check of my life I got a call about my first day of work which was orientation/job training. My second day of work is tomorrow and I'm just as excited/nervous as I was on my first day. It really feels like it's going to be a fun place to work. I think my first paycheck will come in somewhat of a debit card which they recommended I make an immediate deposit into my checking account. I don't have one since I just moved from Hawaii and the bank I used there was 'The Bank of Hawaii'. Anyways, it's mandatory for me to work 'Black Friday' and of course the day before and after Christmas which shouldn't be a problem for me. Heck, I'd work Christmas day if I could.

Monster Hunter Freedom Unite Demo

So, I am probably the last kid on the block to hear about the news like always. The new Monster Hunter Freedom Unite has a demo and it has been released. I decided to download it last night when I searched Monster Hunter on my twitter sadly and it resulted in tweets spewing out "MONSTER HUNTER UNITE DEMO RELEASED!" As my psp, rightfully named tank, read it was installing I could not withhold my excitement. Although I have seen some bits and pieces of the opening cut scene, the finished product on my psp gave me a warm fuzzy feeling inside. I was a little disappointed that I couldn't create my own character on the demo, but I completely understood. Plus, I'm not going to complain if I get to play Monster Hunter Freedom Unite early. I don't have much complaints about it so far, the limited amount of loading screens is much appreciated along with my very helpful felyne partner. Is the felyne partner going to be optional though? Hope so, maybe I won't feel as much accomplished when I defeat a wyvern as I used to. I only used the dual swords and the long sword so far to defeat what I think is called the Hypnocatrice. I love how my felyne friend smacks me when I fall asleep =]

I didn't need to use all the weapons to know that it works pretty much the same way as the other Monster Hunter games in the series. My brother believes that they should of added something to keep the fan's attention, something new. I say, "if you have a good thing, why change it?" I am one of those people who don't really like change and once I get used to something, I don't wish change it. When I like something, for example the 'EEL SPECIAL' at Makoto Sushi, I'll keep ordering it. It's delicious! And Monster Hunter Freedom Unite is just as tasty. I wouldn't change a thing...well I wouldn't say that. I haven't played the real game yet; however, I did notice a slight blurriness on my silver psp's screen. Not to be alarmed though, I think it's just the demo, I'm sure they will make it look cleaner on the finished product. Or maybe I was tired and my eyes were heavy? (It was 1:00 AM) xD

P.S- The reason my psp is named Tank is because on the first day I got it I nearly dropped it and panicked so I tried to catch it and ended it spiking it down to the ground like a volley ball. O.O I almost cried! Luckily my beautiful new psp did not have a scratch on it. I am a spaz though and now my psp has scars to show for it.

Monster Hunter Freedom Unite ftw! "Why change a good thing?"
